At least one person was killed and nine others sustained various degrees of injury when gunmen stormed Abaji market in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of Benue State and opened fire on traders without provocation.
Benue State Police Command confirmed the incident through its Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Catherine Anene, who said that the bandits who disguised themselves as shoppers came into the market at about 6:30 pm on Wednesday and started shooting sporadically.

Anene said the corpse of the deceased person has been deposited at the morgue while the injured persons are receiving treatment at the General Hospital, Katsina-Ala.
