Report says dozens of Israelis have been taken hostage by Palestinian militants.
The Israeli Embassy to the United States has put the figure at 100 in a social media post.
That includes both civilians and soldiers, it says.

In a post on X, formerly Twitter, it also says that more than 300 Israelis have been killed, and upwards of 1,800 injured.
