Osun State Government is empowering youths and women with practical skills that convert everyday waste into clean energy and sustainable sources of income.
At the Waste-to-Energy Practical Training Workshop, held in Osogbo, the Director-General and Special Envoy to the Governor on Climate Change and Renewable Energy, Professor Chinwe Obuaku-Igwe, said the program was designed to position climate action as a pathway to livelihood, dignity, community development and also to boost Job Creation.
The Waste-to-Energy Practical Training brought together selected youths and women from across the state for hands-on demonstrations on converting waste into gas, and different categories of waste.
Co-founder of Waste-Swap, Taiwo Adewole, said the initiative will not only keep the environment clean but also open up sustainable income-generating opportunities for residents.
