The Abdullahi Adamu-led National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress, APC has endorsed former Minority Leader of the Nigerian Senate to emerge as the President of the 10th Senate and Chairman of the National Assembly.
While Akpabio is from South- South geo-political zone, Barau Jibrin who has been tipped as his Deputy is from Kano State in the North-West.

Abass Tajudeen also from the North-West has been endorsed as Speaker of the 10th House of Representatives while Ben Kalu has been proposed as the Deputy Speaker.
APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka made the position known after a meeting of the National Working Committee in Abuja on Monday. He said the decision was reached after consultation with stakeholders of the party including the President-elect, Bola Tinubu.
Morka in his statement urged party leaders and members to continue to support the party for the benefit of Nigerians.
