The Director General of the World Trade Organisation, WTO, Ngozi Okonjo-iweala has tackled Nigeria and African countries on crafting appropriate policies to fit in into the new ‘Just Transition’ of jobs agenda.
The WTO Director-General says Nigeria in particular must not create more jobless citizens, but rather embrace the new agenda with proper understanding.
Ngozi Okonjo-iweala was speaking on Thursday after a high-powered panel discussion on trade, employment and sustainable Development: advancing human and Labour rights, at the 111th International Labour Conference in Geneva, Switzerland.
Members of the panel include Voljer Turk, UN High Commissioner for human rights, Pamela Coke- Executive Director, International Trade Centre.
