A total of 12,983 students of the University of Ilorin for the 2024/2025 academic session have benefitted from the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), to the tune of ₦1.596 billion.
The Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Wahab Egbewole, disclosed this during a press briefing ahead of the institution’s 40th Convocation Ceremony in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.

He noted that the intervention has ensured that no student drops out of school due to financial constraints.
Speaking on the challenges confronting the university, Professor Egbewole identified resource constraints, bureaucratic bottlenecks, and the dynamic nature of the education sector as major factors affecting the institution’s development pace.
Meanwhile, a total of 11,886 students will graduate across various disciplines this October, marking another milestone in the institution’s academic calendar.
