The Nigerian Army has donated relief materials to over 13, 000 Cameroonian refugees residing in Sardauna Local Government Area of Taraba State.
The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant-General Tukur Buratai, who was represented at the event, said the gesture is part of the social responsibility of the Nigerian Army to ease the suffering of the refugees.
Sardauna Local Government Area of Taraba State, popularly known as the Mambilla Plateau, shares a border with the Republic of Cameroon.
The area has in the last two years been home to over 13, 000 Cameroonian refugees that fled the Anglophone crisis, in their country.
The Chief of Mambilla, Shehu Baju, said the setting up of a military base on the Mambilla Plateau has restored peace in the area.
He also commended the Army for embarking on the humanitarian gesture.
Apart from the distribution of relief materials, the Nigerian Army also organized a free medical outreach for the refugees.
