The Delta State Government has confirmed that a two-month-old baby was among the 116 that tested positive out of the 850 conducted tests, to COVID-19 disease.
Commissioner for Health, Mordi Ononye who gave out the information at a news conference in Asaba, Delta State capital, said the 2-month-old baby is currently being taken care of by pediatricians and expressed optimism that the baby will respond to treatment.

Ononye, admonished those that still doubt the veracity of the existence of the virus in the country to have a rethink and not only adhere to its dos and don’ts but to also join in the fight against the spread of the virus.
The Delta State health commissioner, said the state has recorded the spread of the virus in 13 out of the 25 local government areas of the state and 66 percent of the affected were males while females accounted for 34 percent.
According to him,the state Covid 19 hot lines have received about 7.708 calls from people, 31 persons discharged, with 77 active cases including 13 of the Delta State health workers while a lot of the patients at the treatment centers are due for discharge after testing negative twice.
Meanwhile the 7pm to 6am curfew imposed by the state government to check the spread of the virus is still in intact, according to the Secretary to the State Government Chiedu Ebie.
