2 suspected bandits’ suppliers caught with fuel, trailer load of firewood in Katsina

Police in Katsina State have arrested the duo of 33-year-old Aminu Ibrahim and 28-year-old Abdulaziz Sani with 510 litres of petrol, concealed in 20 polythene bags, suspected to be supplies for bandits in the forest.

Police spokesman Superintendent Gambo Isah, while parading the suspects, also said the Command recovered a trailer load of logs, also suspected to be supplies for bandits.

The items were being conveyed in the boot of a car heading for the forest when they were intercepted by security along Magama-Jibiya Road.

One of the suspects Aminu Ibrahim denied taking the petrol to bandits, explaining that some of the items were for resale, while others were for personal use.
In a similar development, a trailer load of logs of wood were intercepted by the Police Safer Highway Patrol, along Funtua – Zaria Road, which Superintendent Isah said was contravening the Security Challenges Containment Order.
