Police in Ondo State says they are investigating the cause of a bloody clash between supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ondo town, in Ondo West Local Government Area.
The police spokesperson,Tee Leo-Ikoro, who confirmed the incident on Friday, said the command has arrested several suspects.
He said the police authority is currently investigating various political clashes in state ahead of the LG poll.
Earlier on Thursday,The Social Democratic Party of Idanre had announced its withdrawal from the election after its members were allegedly attacked and injured by political thugs.
10 political parties will be participating in the elections after the main opposition, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) withdrew from the race; questioning the credibility of the election process.
