Governor Godwin Obaseki and the Joint Negotiating Council of the Organised Labour in Edo State, South-South Nigeria have signed agreement for implementation of the new National Minimum Wage.
Speaking at the signing of the document in Benin City, Governor Obaseki said that workers in the State would receive bank alerts reflecting the increment on or before January 26, 2020.
In New Year message, Governor Obaseki assured workers in the State of the implementation of the new minimum wage. And few days later, Organised Labour was in Government House to sign the agreement.

State Chapter Chairman of Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC Sunny Osayande and Chairman, Joint Negotiating Council, Catherine Eseine, lauded the Governor for having the interest of the state workers at heart.
The Governor had also said the next phase of welfare package will include training and retraining of civil servants for enhanced productivity.
