Delta state government host of this year’s 21st National Sports Festival says come 7th of April it will unveil the Logo and Mascot of the festival and would deliver other facilities that are currently under construction hopefully in the next 4 to 5 weeks.

Secretary to the State Government Patrick Ukah who was flanked by the Chairman Delta State Sports Council Tonobok Okowa and other Local Organising Committee members made this known while briefing journalists in Asaba on the state government’s level of preparedness in hosting the festival
He said most of the facilities for the festival have been ready since two years ago when the state bidded to host the games

Ukah reinstated Delta Government’s commitment to deliver one of the best games in the nation’s Sports Festival history and to leverage on the experiences gathered when the state hosted the Athletics Championship in 2018 to make the event worthwhile.

He gave a vivid account on how the state would accommodate over 10,000 athletes which also include 3,000 officials bearing in mind the rules that guide the limit of areas athletes would be housed.

Apart from the mentioned areas, Ukah said a new hostel is springing up around Delta state University all for the athletes while there is an advanced plan deployed by the organisers beyond the conventional way of spectators being accommodated inside the stadium during events

He said the unveiling of the Logo and the Mascot will also witness the exposure of the marketing firm as well as sponsors of the commercially benefitting games which he tagged “for the people and the players” .
