Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has called on members of the judiciary to decrease the filing of baseless petitions against judges, as it robs the administration of justice in society.

Governor Bala Mohammed made the call during the 2023/2024 Legal Year Celebration in Bauchi State, North-East Nigeria.

The 2023/2024 Legal Year Celebration was colourful, as members of the bar and the police performed an eye catching parade, marking the outgoing and incoming years of judicial service.

The event moves into a special court session presided over by Bauchi State Chief Judge, Justice Rabi Talatu Umar, who enumerated some of the successes and challenges, including some of the petitions filed against her, in the course of discharging judicial responsibility.

While reiterating the judicial commitments, towards ensuring the speedy dispensation of justice in the state, Justice Rabi Umar, seeks additional slots for high court judges and Khadis, for effective administration of justice service delivery.

While sympathising with the state’s Chief Judge, over some unfounded allegations, filed against her the Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, calls on the Nigerian Bar Association, to caution its members to avoid malicious allegations against each other.

The state’s Attorney General, Hassan El Yakubu, SAN and the Bauchi State Chairman, Nigeria Bar Association, Ibrahim Danjuma, thanked Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed for his support for the judiciary and requested more.
