To have a smooth and successful 2023 Census in Nigeria, the Federal Government has been urged to address security challenges and raise awareness among the members of the public.
These were some of the challenges identified during a stakeholder’s awareness meeting with 20 Local Government Councillors organized by the Bauchi State Ministry of Local Government.

Recall that the last head count was conducted in Nigeria in August 2006, sixteen years ago and another census has beem scheduled for 2023.
After successful deliberations on its importance, the local council members were told to mobilise people for effective participation in the exercise.
The challenges emanating from the last census, as well as the current challenges, were discussed.
The National Population Commissioner in charge of Bauchi, Ibrahim Mohamed, assured that the commission is well prepared for the exercise and that the areas needing attention have been identified during the conduct of the pre-census exercise.
The participants are hopeful that the commission, will address the challenges identified during this meeting, for the success of the exercise, proposed in April 2023.
