2023 Election: Labour Party Presidential Candidate laments poverty level in Nigeria

The Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi has taken his campaign to Bauchi state, lamenting the high poverty level among the citizenry.

Obi who said that Nigeria’s debt has hit up to 77 trillion naira, said in Bauchi state that the country is breathing poverty due to bad leadership.

The LP Presidential candidate urged the people of Bauchi to eschew voting leaders on the basis of Religion, tribe, or ethnicity.

Supporters of the Labour party were at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa airport to receive their presidential candidate for his ongoing campaign ahead of the coming February presidential election.

The campaign team moved to the Bauchi Emir’s Palace to receive fatherly and royal blessings and to also brief the Emir about his mission in the state.

Receiving the Presidential candidate in his palace, the Emir of Bauchi, Rulwanu Suleman admonished Politicians to exhibit tolerance and maturity during the electioneering season.

Obi proceeded to the Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa memorial stadium where he addressed supporters who were anxiously waiting to hear his message.

The Campaign rally was well entertained by the popular human rights activist, Aisha Yusuf and professors Pat Utomi with dance steps at the podium before making their speeches.

In his address, Peter Obi informed the Gathering that, despite huge resources endowed in the country, Nigeria is being run on debt and bad economic policy, thereby subjecting the masses to untold hardship of hunger and insecurity.

The campaign team believes that, if good leaders are elected to pilot the affairs of the country come February and March 2023, the country is going to witness a lot of positive changes.
