The National Electoral Commission in Plateau State on Friday disclosed that it has taken delivery of its own share of the BVAS machines meant for the state against the 2023 Election.
The state Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr Oliver Agundu while receiving the machine said it will be shared across the total number of polling units in Plateau during next year’s general elections for the purpose of accreditation of prospective voters.
According to Agundu, the delivery of the machines signifies the absolute and early preparedness of INEC to conduct the 2023 general election without hitches as planned by the Commission and called on all registered voters in the state who are yet to collect their PVCs to do the needful, so that they too can vote for the candidates of their choice.

The Plateau INEC REC also revealed that a performance check on each of the machines is expected to be carried out in the coming days, so as to ascertain the functionality status of the machines before they are finally kept securely for use during the election.
Recall that in line with the new electoral Act 2022 which has allowed the deployment of technology in Nigeria’s Electoral system, INEC has said the BVAS will be the sole means of accreditation for next year’s General Elections.
With this delivery, Plateau State has joined the league of states that have so far received their share of BVAS which is generally described as a Game Changer in the evolution of Nigeria’s Electoral system.
