Atiku Abubakar/Ifeanyi Okowa

Former Nigeria’s Vice President and PDP Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has called on Nigerians to remain united, and not to allow themselves to be divided across religious, ethnic, or regional lines.

Atiku, represented by his running mate and Governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa, said this in the Demsa Local government Area of Adamawa State, during the Annual National Convention of the Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria.

Okowa said he is happy that despite the current economic hardship being experienced in the country, people still create time to reverence the Creator, in such a gathering.

He appealed to the people, and the leadership of the Lutheran Church, to as a matter of patriotism, pray for the country and be ready to vote only for people, who have the progress of Nigeria and its citizens at heart, mentioning Atiku’s presidency as the need of the hour.

In his contribution, Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri charged the Church not to relent in praying for the emancipation of Nigeria, from backwardness.

The Archbishop of the Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria, and President Lutheran World Federation, Musa Filibus, welcomed the guests to the convention ground and urged them to govern with the fear of God if voted into power.

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, in the company of the PDP National Chairman, former Vice President Namadi Sambo, former governors, senators, and ministers, among other PDP top shots, was earlier at the Palace of the Lamido Adamawa, where Aliyu Atiku Abubakar, son of the PDP Presidential Candidate was turbaned as Turakin Adamawa, alongside Yeriman Adamawa.
