The Resident Electoral Commissioner of the Bayelsa State Independent Electoral Commission, Dr Emannuel Alex – Hart has called on voters in the the state to participate fully in the forthcoming elections to avoid the scrapping of polling units which may be termed as not viable.
Alex – Hart gave the advise while updating journalists in Yenagoa on the activities of the electoral umpire in the state since the Continuous Voters Registration Exercise kickstarted last Year.
He called on eligible voters to take advantage of new additional polling units to justify their creation.
According to him, a total of Four hundred and forty polling units have been added to the already existing ones in Bayelsa State, to bring the total number to two thousand,two hundred and forty four.
While calling on eligible voters to register before the last quarter of Continuous Voters Registration Exercise ends in June this year, the Resident Electoral Commissioner urged political actors to take note of the 2023 election timetable and act accordingly.
