A Pro-Northern political group under the aegis of 100% Focus on Nigeria has called on voters not to allow themselves to be distracted by mundane issues of ethnicity and religion that have kept the country divided for years.
Addressing journalists at a media parley in Abuja, the National Chairman of the group, Ibrahim Muhammed advised citizens to be wary of the divisive antics of politicians contending for their votes and not fall cheap prey this time around.
The group said citizens should begin to see themselves first as Nigerians and have their eyes set on issues of development as they vote next year.
The political pressure group however said it has found a credible candidate in the Presidential bid of Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress APC, citing his sterling leadership qualities and achievements when he served as Governor of Lagos State.
The group pleaded with Nigerians to give the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) a chance to correct its own mistakes by voting for the party in 2023.
According to it, only the APC understands the weight of the challenges confronting the country and it deserved to be given a second chance.
