The Intra Party Advisory Council, IPAC, a Council believed to be the Unbrella body of the 18 Registered Political PartiesPolitical Parties in Nigeria wants the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to consider an adjustment in the Schedule of Activities for the 2023 General Elections.
Chairman of IPAC and National Chairman Africa Democratic Party, ADP Yusuf Yabagi-Sani, speaking on behalf of the 18 political parties at the INEC Quarterly Consultative Meeting with Political Party Executives in Abuja on Tuesday, said the adjustment should only affect party Primaries by two months, which will not alter the timeline for the 2023 General Elections.
INEC Chairman Professor Mahmood Yakubu reminded the political parties of importance of respecting the election timeline, noting it is a constitutional matter.
Most Party Chairman Including those of the Ruling APC and Main Opposition PDP, attended the meeting.
