As the 2023 general elections draw nearer, some northern leaders are advising youths in the region to vote leaders based on merit, and not on any form of affiliation.
This was the central message at the Fourth Annual Lecture In Honour Of Maitama Sule, held at the Federal College of Education, Yola, Adamawa State.
Electing leaders based on religious and ethnic affiliations was one of the topics discussed during the lecture.

The northern leaders said it is important that youths in the region are enlightened on voting credible leaders, saying, no northerner should expect to be voted for based on religion or ethnicity.
