The Nasarawa State Police Command has banned all forms of protests across the 13 Local Government Areas of the state.
This was contained in a statement made available to newsmen by the command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel, in Lafia the state capital..

According to him, the move by the command is to forestall the breakdown of law and order in the state.
Various groups including women had embarked on sustained demonstration in Lafia, Nasarawa State to protest alleged irregularities in the Governorship election that produced the APC Candidate, Governor Abdullahi Sule for a second term.
The statement read in parts “The Nasarawa State Police Command wishes to inform the general public that all forms of protest have been banned throughout the state.
“Therefore, all proposed protests under any guise are hereby prohibited.
He advised, parents and guardians to ensure their children and wards do not violate the order as anyone caught shall be arrested and prosecuted accordingly.
For over a week now members of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state including women and youth groups have been protesting demanding that the Independent National Electoral Commission review the 2023 governorship election.
