One of the opposition political parties in Nigeria, the Labour Party, has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to fully implement the 2022 electoral act as amended, particularly in the area of monitoring of all registered Political Parties towards the fast approaching series of Elections in the Country.
The national chairman of the party, Julius Abure, made the call in a statement and called on the commission, to ensure all political parties obey the law.
Abure advised INEC to be resolute in providing a level playing field for all registered political parties.

The Party noted INEC ‘s letter dated March 9 2022 and signed by its Secretary, Rose Oriaran Anthony, titled, “Re: Invitation to the emergency meeting of the National Executive Committee”, and addressed to the National Chairman of APC, to draw the attention of the party to the new electoral act.
The Party asked INEC to maintain what it described as a new beginning.
