Ardent critic of President Muhammadu Buhari and Former member House of Representatives, Usman Bugaje has forged a new alliance with a few other prominent Nigerian politicians ahead of 2023 general elections to rescue Nigeria from a “rudderless and inept current leadership.
In 2016, Bugaje turned down Buhari’s offer of Ambassadorial appointment and has consistently criticized his policies on security and economy.
On Tuesday, Bagaje floats a pan-Nigeria group known as Rescue Nigeria Project which he said is inclined to act how to more than ever to save the Nigerian state from being completely run aground.
Speaking, former Governor of Kwara State, Abdulfattah Ahmed who joins the national caucus lamented the spate of insecurity and economic hardship in the country; arguing strongly that the time has come to change the narratives by putting in place mechamism for credible leadership.
According to him, Nigeria can only achieve this through the establishment of formidable platforms such as the Rescue Nigeria Project to galvanize, nurture and mentor the kind of visionary leadership Nigeria needs.
The former governor did not rule out the possibility of them transforming into a full- fledged political party to kick out the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
Another member of the Rescue Nigeria Project , RNP, former Minister of Education, Professor Tunde Adeniran describes President Muhamadu Buhari and his ruling All Progressives Congress, APC momumental disaster.
According to him, the leadership class including himself has disappointed the youths, who he said have become restive and calling for actions against many unanswered questions.

Renowed economist and former Delta State Governorship aspirant, Pat Utomi shares in the ideals of the Rescue Nigeria Project; stressing that the infamous title of being “poverty capital of the world” should get every Nigerian worrried enough to join in the rescue mission.
Speaking in what seems a veiled sense about the raging controvesy over Value Added Tax, VAT, and the vexed issue of resource control, Utomi urged state governors to stop chasing after revenues that will make their states poorer but channel their energy to production and watch their state become exceedingly rich.
“People are rushing for things that will make them poor, people dont get rich from revenue, they get rich from production”.
“Change the mind of politicians to be more production minded and not chasing for revenues that will make them poor”, he said.
