Charles Soludo and Peter Obi

The Governor of Anambra State, Charles Soludo has slammed yet again the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, insisting that Obi’s investment and savings when he served as the State Governor were “worth less” venture.

The former Governor of Central Bank, CBN, in a statement in response to scathing Social Media comments that greeted his television interview about the value of Obi’s $12 million investment and how it has been diminished to $ 3 million said his predecessor wasted the opportunities of the oil boom presented to him at that time with the misconceived investment that has now shrunk drastically.

He further lambasted the Labour Party (LP) Presidential candidate for electing to save monies that could have been invested to provide roads, schools, hospitals and other social infrastructure to meet the needs of the people.

Soludo dimmed Obi’s Presidential bid when he said Obi is not and should not be considered as one of the serious contenders for the position in 2023.

He said without the required political structure and political alliances, Obi’s ambition with the Labour Party is a tall dream and that no amount of prayers by his supporter who he said are like mob actions on Social media can seal victory for Obi’s presidency in 2023.

According to him, Obi is inadvertently paving the way for the victory of the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu as all his efforts will amount to ripping votes from the other serious contender and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), Atiku Abubakar in the race.

He concluded with some words of advice to Ndigbo and others he said are currently mesmerized by the frenzy of Ob’s campaign to have a rethink and forge fresh political alliance across bridges and especially with either Atiku or Tinubu if they hope to come up with anything substantial in the forthcoming election.

Soludo in his advice further called on Ndigbo to push for a reform that will guarantee political and economic restructuring and especially the rebuilding of the Southeast after the civil war as well as the release of the leader of the proscribed separatist group, the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.

He was emphatic that any hope on Obi at this time will leave them empty-handed, stressing that Obi himself knows it for a fact.
