Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has vowed not to step down for anyone under the guise of Concensus as the Primaries for the 2023 General Election gathers momentum.
Wike was speaking in Càlabar, Wednesday when he met the stakeholders and delegates of the PDP ahead of the May 28 Delegate election, saying he has neither vice presidential or Senatorial ambition as being speculated.
The Rivers State Chief Executive appealed to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to give him the mandate of the party, as the candidate who can win the presidential election in 2023 against the ruling APC.
He said he has no doubt of Cross River PDP delegates, because he has been with them during their trying times.
Earlier, the Cross River PDP chairman, Venatius Ikem, said the PDP in the state will give total support for Governor Wike, a position the Leader of the National Assembly in the State, Gershom Bassey adopted.
Governor Wike was in Càlabar with former Governor, Dankwambo of Gombe, Liyel Imoke and Donald Duke of Cross River among others, as part of his Consultations with the PDP delegates ahead of the party’s presidential delegate election.
