Embattled former national chairman of the African Action Congress, AAC, and Human Rights Activist, Omoyele Sowore has called on Nigerians to support his ambition as he joins the 2023 race for the presidency.

Sowore who declares his intention to join other presidential hopefuls under the AAC party in Abuja on Sunday says despite several persecutions by the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration, he is having a strong will to use the ballot box in clinching the presidency.

The Human Rights Activist says he choose the suburb of the Federal Capital Territory as the venue for the presidential declaration in other to show the masses that when he is elected he will prioritise their needs.

Those who attended his presidential declaration event say they are ready to vote out senior citizens in power and will throw their weight behind any young Nigerian that is courageous to join any political race for the 2023 General elections.

Sowore who was on suspension for misappropriation of party fund among other allegations was removed as the national chairman of the party in 2019 after the federal high court, abuja ordered his  suspension as the AAC national chairman and to stop parading himself as such.

But on February 25, 2021,  an appeal court sitting in abuja fixed April 4, 2022, for the hearing of an appeal filed by Sowore, challenging the high court judgement on the leadership of the AAC between him and the Acting National Chairman, Leonard Nzenwa on the ground of lack of jurisdiction, breach of fair hearing and improper evaluation of evidence.
