The ongoing voter registration exercise in Kano State has continued to witness a massive turnout of prospective registrants.
Some of the registrants expressed satisfaction with the process, but called on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to establish more registration points, with additional manpower.
The crowd of eligible voters came to the Kano State Headquarters of INEC to get registered and obtain their Permanent Voters Cards for the 2023 General Election.
One experience they share in common is the number of hours spent before being attended to.
The prospective registrants want INEC to make access to the registration centre less cumbersome, and plead for more registration points.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner of INEC in Kano State, Professor Riskuwa Shehu, said the commission has already established more registration centres.
Riskuwa also warned the people against multiple registrations as it amounts to electoral fraud.
Eligible registrants in the state were also advised by the commission to take advantage of the extension of the closing date for registration.
