The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Rivers State, South-South Nigeria on Sunday held Special Thanksgiving Service to dedicate its campaigns for the 2023 general elections.
Speaking at the event, that attracted all the candidates and other party faithful, Governor Nyesom Wike says the PDP already has its work cut out saying that the good work of his administration since 2015 will speak greatly for candidates of the party during the forthcoming general elections.
All is now set for the PDP to kick-stark its campaign rallies to all the 319 wards across the 23 local government areas of Rivers State.
But before then, Governor Wike has decided to lead all the candidates and other party faithful to church to seek God’s favour and protection in their quest for victory.
Governor Wike however insists that all political parties in the State must comply with the provisions of Executive Orders 21 and 22; adding that no political party will be allowed to use public schools for their campaigns unless they pay the stipulated fee.

He also addressed what he described as the purported attack on the Port Harcourt residence of a member of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council, Lee Maeba.
Governor Wike used the dedication service to warn the church against being used by politicians for their selfish interest.
He adds that the church must continue to be the watchdog for truth, equity and justice in Nigeria.
