2024 Eid-el-Kabir: FCT Police Command Deploys Pesonnel Ahead Celebration

The FCT Police Command has deployed officers and men across the Federal Capital Territory ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration by Muslims.

The statement signed by the police public Relations officer FCT Police Command Josephine Adeh, said the command has proactively deployed material and human resources at the Command’s disposal across the nooks and crannies of the Nation’s Capital.

The statement said the deployment which is aimed at ensuring a peaceful and serene atmosphere, before, during and post Eid celebration is characterized by visibility policing, deployment of explosive ordinance devices (EOD) experts and personnel at various prayer grounds, recreational centers, event centres and raids on identified black spots, uncompleted buildings/shanties, stop and search, Vehicular as well as foot patrol.

The statement said there will be diversion points in the territory around Eid ground by airport interchange to games village and Jabi by airport road into the main city.

The Commissioner of Police FCT, CP Benneth Igweh While facilitating with the Muslim community, called on residents to give the police operatives utmost cooperation, as the deployments is solely aimed at ensuring the safety of the populace.

The Commissioner also called on the Muslim faithfuls in FCT, to embrace the virtues of the festivity, reassuring the populace of his commitment to ensure the safety of all and sundry.
