In Akwa Ibom state , Governor Umo Eno ,while appreciating the support of workers since he assumed office , stated that a new minimum wage for state civil servants would be announced as soon as the Federal Government works out modalities for that of the country.
Governor Eno announced the release of another N2b for payment of gratuities to retirees having paid a total of N16.1b since coming into office.

He added that his commitment to the welfare of state workers is unwavering which has seen him increase pension for those who retired before 2012, approved recruitment of health workers among others.
The event featured the traditional march past of 62 affiliates of organized labour.
