The Super Eagles of Nigeria have been drawn in Group C with Tunisia, Uganda, Tanzania.

The CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Morocco 2025 Final Draw ceremony was held on Monday, January 27, at the Mohammed V National Theatre in Rabat.

Nigeria, three-time AFCON winners, secured their spot in the tournament by topping their qualifying group with 11 points. Their impressive performance was marked by nine goals scored and only three conceded in six matches.

The Super Eagles will aim to build on their strong qualifying form and claim their fourth AFCON title. However, they will face stiff competition in their group, particularly from Tunisia.

Tunisia has a rich history in the AFCON, having participated in the tournament 20 times. Their best finish came in 2004 when they won the title on home soil, defeating Morocco 2-1 in the final. Tunisia has also reached the semifinals on four occasions and has consistently been one of the top teams in African football.

Uganda has qualified for the Africa Cup of Nations seven times, with their best finish coming in 1978 when they finished as runners-up, losing to Ghana in the final. The Cranes have struggled to replicate that success in recent years, but they have shown glimpses of promise, including a quarterfinal appearance in 2017, where they lost to Egypt.

Tanzania has participated in the Africa Cup of Nations twice, in 1980 and 2019. Their debut in 1980 ended in a group-stage exit, when they returned to the tournament in 2019, they were eliminated in the group stage once again. Despite their limited success in the tournament, the Taifa Stars have shown improvement in recent years and will be looking to make a bigger impact in Morocco.

The Final Draw ceremony was a spectacular event, featuring African football legends Joseph Yobo, Mustapha Hadji, Serge Aurier, and Aliou Cisse. These iconic figures assisted with the draw and provided expert insights into the groups for the upcoming tournament.
