Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule has said that despite the seeming controversy, the North of the country remains committed to its agreement on power shift, which provides for the South to produce the country’s President in 2027.
Governor Sule stated this while delivering a speech at this year’s Nzeh Mada Annual Cultural Festival in the Akwanga Local Government Area of the State.
Governor Sule told his audience that the North will support incumbent President Bola Tinubu for a second term come 2027.
Regarding the ongoing agitation by some Northern politicians challenging the second term ambition of President Tinubu, Governor Sule promised to speak on the matter at the appropriate time.
He said just as the North worked hard to get the President elected in 2023, the region will still work hard to get Tinubu reelected in 2027.
The Governor dismissed attempts by some politicians from the North seeking to confuse the people, insisting that the North must uphold its reputation by sticking with the power shift agreement
He used the opportunity to call on the Mada people to unite and shun acts capable of causing disunity, emphasising the point that only with peace and unity can there be progress and development.
