The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has reaffirmed his commitment to the “Renewed Hope” agenda, stating that his support for President Bola Tinubu is rooted in equity, justice, and the need for regional power balance.
Speaking during a Christmas homage to the traditional ruler of Emohua in Emohua local government area and Chairman of the South South traditional rulers council, His Royal Majesty, Onha Sergeant Awuse, the Minister urged the people of Emohua to remain politically vigilant ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The arrival of the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, to Rumuche community in Emohua Local Government Area was met with a festive atmosphere as residents turned out in large numbers to welcome him.
The Minister’s visit was a traditional Christmas homage to the paramount ruler of Emohua Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Ohna Sergeant Awuse.
The Chairman of Emohua LGA, Chidi Lloyd, and HRM Sergeant Awuse, described the Minister as a “selfless and dependable” leader.
They noted that the President has delivered tangible value to the nation’s economy and pledged their continued loyalty to Wike’s political direction.
The Minister addressed the crowd, emphasizing that his support for President Tinubu in 2023, was rooted in equity and justice.
The Minister thanked the people for their support, asserting that the Ikwerre ethnic nationality has become a formidable force in Nigerian politics that can no longer be ignored.
The Minister’s tour continued to Isiokpo, the headquarters of Ikwerre Local Government Area, for a stakeholders’ meeting involving members of both the PDP and APC.
In a clear signal of his intent to maintain his political grassroots, Wike told the gathering that he would be spending more weekends in Port Harcourt starting in January 2026.
Former Ikwerre local government Council Chairman Samuel Nwanosike assured the Minister that his supporters in the LGA remain firmly behind his leadership.
