Three bodies have been recovered while two adults and another male, said to have been trapped under the rubble were rescued by emergency responders who rushed to the scene of building collapse at Maryland area of Lagos state.
According to the Permanent Secretary, Lagos state Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, Olufemi Oke-Osayintolu, all the six victims were construction workers.




The agency he explained received a distress call regarding the collapsed building located at 13, Wilson Mba Street in Arowojobe Estate, Maryland at about 3.49am on Thursday which prompted the immediate activation of the response team.
According to Osayintolu, further investigation revealed that a set of three terraces under construction had collapsed trapping the workers who were sleeping at the building site.
The three rescued workers were later rushed to a nearby hospital where they are currently receiving medical attention while remains of the three other persons have been deposited at the mortuary.
