Three people have been reported killed after gunmen invaded Ukwa Ngbo in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
The attackers, said to be about 20 in number, stormed the community on Monday afternoon shooting sporadically, as people ran for lives.
Ukwa Ngbo is a community on the border with Benue state and locals have blamed militia from Agila, a neighbouring community in Benue state for the attacks.
Police in Ebonyi State are yet to confirmed the incident, as the spokesman for the Command, Chris Anyanwu told ait.live that he was yet to be briefed.
Chairman of Ohaukwu Local Government Area, Omekannaya Odah however did confirm the attack in a statement released to journalists in Abakaliki.
He did not disclose the casualty figure.
The latest attacks are being linked to the age-long crisis between the Ukwa Ngbo community in Ebonyi State and their Agila neighbours of Benue State over land on their common border
