An early Monday morning downpour which lasted for about 3 hours, has left some major streets in the Katsina Metropolis submerged in flood, leaving motorists to ply one way.
The areas mostly affected include the popular Kofar Kaura Round About and Layout, as well as the Tudun Katsira Layout Road, linking the new Central Bank of Nigeria Road.

AIT News observed that as a result of the downpour, the roads were filled with water, making navigation difficult and safe for one way drive.
Our correspondent gathered that, around the Tudun Katsira Layout, buildings were submerged, as the road lacked drainage system.
It was also gathered that where there are drainages, they were not properly cleared, to enable free flow of water.
A similar incident also occurred around the same location in 2020, where some poultry farmers lost millions of Naira worth of investments, including about 3,500 birds and livestock, perimeter fencing of buildings collapsed, as well as houses being flooded.
The residents in the areas had appealed to the state government to come to their aid, but a year on, no help has reached them.
It is the hope of the people that as a result of this particular situation, the government will swing into action to avert future recurrence.
