Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike says issues of Injustice, Equity and Nepotism were some of the challenges confronting National Unity and Security in Nigeria.
The governor stated this while declaring open the third Nigeria Union of Journalist NUJ National Conference in Port Harcourt, the River State capital.
The theme of the third NUJ National Conference is :”the Media, Insecurity and National Unity”.

Rivers State governor Nyesom Wike represented by his deputy Ipalibo Harry-Banigo said the growing agitations is sequel to Federal Government’s insincerity to issues affecting the nation.
Abia state Governor Okezie Ikpeazu who delivered the key note address said the media has a serious role to play to sustain national unity
On his part, the National President of NUJ Prince Isiguzo said gaging the media was against the norms of freedom of speech and therefore urged the Federal Government to immediately lift the ban on Twitter.
The third NUJ National Conference is expected to come to a close on the eighth of June, 2021.
