Four persons have been abducted at Kolo Village, in Gusau Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

The kidnappers were said to have rejected old Naira notes as payment for the five million naira ransom they demanded.

The four abducted persons include a man, a woman and two orphaned children.

Residents of the troubled village also said, that as they were trying to raise the amount, through communal effort, the terrorists sent a message, saying they will not release their captives until they change the old Naira notes to new ones.

Efforts to get the Police spokesman in the state, Superintendent Mohammed Shehu to confirm the incident was unsuccessful, as his mobile telephone lines were not connecting at the time of filing this report.
