Four People have been reported drowned, while several houses and farmlands, were destroyed by flooding in the Kontagora and Mashegu Local Government Areas of Niger State. An unknown number of people were also reported missing.

Though the actual cause of the flood has not been ascertained, an eyewitness account, Abubakar Imam, said that the residents of the Kasanga Area, were lucky, as no death was recorded although two hundred houses in the area were washed away.
He then appealed to the authorities to come to their aid, as the destruction of their farmlands and houses by the flood, has started affecting their lives.
