The Nigeria Governors’ Forum has described as unsubstantiated, the allegation of one of the consultants in the Paris Club Refund story that it collected funds to prosecute elections in some states.

The lead consultant on the excess deductions from the Paris and London Club debt buy back fund, Ned Nwoko had on Saturday alleged that the Governors led by Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State demanded and received US$100m to prosecute elections in Bauchi, Ekiti and Ondo States.

A statement by the Director, Media And Public Affairs of the Governors Forum Abdulrazaq Bello-Barkindo said it did not at any time get involved in or receive US$100million from Ned Nwoko to finance elections in any state.

The Governors Forum advised the lead consultant to reserve his complaint against the Governors Forum and canvass them on appeal as the law may permit.

Though Ned Nwoko’s company has vowed to fully enforce the judgement in his favour at the Federal High Court in Abuja, the Governors’ Forum reminded him that the law does not permit the enforcement of a judgement that is on appeal.

Nwoko on Saturday also said he is entitled to US$68million of the total US_148million, a claim the NGF said was unacceptable.

The Governors Forum insists all claims by the six consulting firms are rooted in the suit instituted by Ned Nwoko, adding that the attempt by Nwoko to separate his claims of $68milliion portends him as trying to be being clever by half.
