Over 5,600 members of the New Nigeria Peoples Party NNPP have defected in Bogoro, Dass, and Tafawa Balewa Local Government Areas of Bauchi State.

The Bauchi State Chairman of the African Democratic Congress ADC Hassan Haruna, announced the development while receiving Quni Simon, a former House of Representatives candidate for Bogoro/Dass/Tafawa Balewa Federal Constituency who led the defecting group.

The atmosphere at Railway Junction was electric as hometown hero Quni Simon arrived to a sea of supporters.

The crowd led a vibrant procession into Tafawa Balewa town, marking Simon’s formal exit from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).

At the reception ground, the air was filled with optimism. Following a series of solidarity speeches from party stalwarts.

The moment of transition arrived, Simon was officially handed the ADC party flag and registration card by his ward leader—a symbolic seal of his new political home.

ADC State Chairman, Hassan Haruna, hailed the move, calling Simon a significant addition whose popularity will significantly boost the party’s profile in the region.

Speaking on his move, Quni Simon noted that his switch wasn’t just about party lines, but about solutions. He expressed firm conviction that the ADC holds the most viable blueprint for tackling Nigeria’s security and economic hurdles.

The ADC leadership in Bauchi believes this is just the beginning and are predicting a broader wave of defections as the party kicks off a massive membership drive across the state.
