Six bandits have been arrested by Operation Sahel Sanity, a subsidiary of Operation Hadari Daji in Zamfara, Katsina, and Sokoto States.
The Acting Director Defense Media operations, Defense Headquarters Abuja, Brigadier General Benard Onyeuko, disclosed this in a press statement made available to reporters in Gusau, the Zamfara State capital.
The statement said that the troops also recovered 63 rustled cows after an encounter with the bandits who fled and left the cows at Zauni village and Wanke at Magami Districts in Gusau Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The troops also recovered a black bag containing charms and 1,650 naira.

The suspected bandits, who were arrested in Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina State were Mohammed Lawal and Useni Abubakar, while Marti Abdullahi and Abdullahi Muazu were arrested in Gundumi Local Government Area of Sokoto State.

Others are Gabbe Muhammadu and Muhammed Bello, known for kidnapping and robbery. They were arrested in Sabo Birnin Local Government Council of Sokoto State.

Nuhu Gambo, who was kidnapped at Ungwar Tabo when bandits invaded the village, was rescued by the troops who took over the area and has been reunited with his family.
