6 bandits killed as one Police, Vigilante paid supreme price in Plateau attack

The Plateau State Police Command on Tuesday, said that six bandits known for terrorising the Communities in the state, have been killed.

The incident which occurred on Monday 23rd August, took place along Mangu/Bokkos Road in Plateau State, North Central Nigeria, when the group of bandits engaged the police in a gun duel.

The State Police command while confirming the incident to ait.live through it’s Spokesperson ASP Gabriel Ubah, said that it received credible information about the activity of a notorious gun running syndicate at the Kwoi Village, in Mangu LGA of the State and On receipt of the information, the IGP’s Intelligence Response Team (IRT) based in Mangu, Police Operatives attached to Mangu Division, STF and local vigilante, were mobilised swiftly to the area.

Ubah, said on sighting the team, the hoodlums engaged them in a gun duel, and due to the tactical operational capability and superior firepower of the Operatives, six of the hoodlums were gunned
down, while others fled with various degrees of bullets wounds.

According to the Police Spokesperson, Inspector Abdulrahaman Isah, the Commander of the IGP’s Intelligence Response Team based in Mangu and Hassan Mohammed a local vigilante, gallantly paid the supreme price, as exhibits recovered from the bandits include Three AK 47 Rifles with Breach Nos 868, 106076 and 123487.

As at the time of filing in this report, efforts are being intensified to arrest other fleeing members of the syndicate.
