66th Grammy Awards : Burna Boy, Davido, Asake, Ayra Starr Bag Nominations

Nigerian Afrobeat Stars Burnaboy Ayra Starr, Davido and Asake have been nominated for the 66th Grammy awards.

The Recording Academy organisers of the annual Awards, is in recognition of outstanding achievements in global music industry.

American singer and songwriter SZA, led the awards pack with nine nominations ahead of the 2024 edition.

Nigerian music stars Davido, BurnaBoy, Ayra Starr and Asake made Nigeria and the continent of Africa proud as they got nominated in different categories.

The “It’s Plenty” hit maker Burna Boy bagged four award nominations: The Best African Music Performance, Best Melodic Rap, Best Global Music Album and the Global Music Performance categories.

The “Feel It”singer Davido was nominated in three categories Best Global Music Album, Best African Music Performance and the Best Global Music Performance categories.

Nigerian female sensation Ayra Starr and multi award winning singer Asake each received one nomination.

Asake and Olamide’s hit single “Amapiano” and Ayra Starr’s “Rush” got nominated in the newly created Best African Music Performance category.

The 66th annual Grammy Awards is scheduled to take place on Sunday, February 4th, 2024 at Crypto.com Arena, Los Angeles California United States.
