67 Television, Radio stations get operating licences

President Muhammadu Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved 67 New Broadcast Licences for Television and Radio stations.

This New approval brings the total number of licences approved during President Buhari’s tenure of office to 473.

Director General of the National Broadcadting Commision Balarabe Ilelah who gave the update at a media conference in Abuja said the number is expected to increase before the end of the current administration.

Illelah said the Commission noted a significant reduction in the number of sanctions meted out to broadcast stations, an indication that stations are upholding professionalism in the discharge of their duties
