At least eight persons have been reported dead in a communal conflict in Donga Local Government Area of Taraba State, North-East Nigeria.

In the violence, three villages were razed and property worth millions of Naira destroyed.

The crises in Mararaban-Donga is a fall out of the Tiv-Jukun conflict that has affected border communities between Taraba and Benue States.

People are still fleeing affected villages with the few belongings they could lay their hands on, due to the fear of another attack. The renewed hostilities have been ongoing for three days.

The Tiv-Jukun crisis has displaced many farming communities in southern Taraba State, and the number keeps increasing, especially at the onset of the farming season.
