The 8th meeting of the North-East Governors Forum holds in Maiduguri, Borno State. It is the first meeting of the Forum for the year 2023.
The Governors in attendance include those of Adamawa, Bauchi and Yobe States. Those of Gombe and Taraba States are being represented by the Deputy Governors.
Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum who is also the Chairman of the Forum, said they will be deliberating on issues common to the sub-region.
Vice President Kashim Shettima who officially declared the meeting open, commended the Governors for coming together to work on common issues, irrespective of political affiliations.
A communique is expected at the end of the meeting.
