Following Saturday’s reported index case of the Coronavirus in Benue State, Governor Samuel Ortom has imposed stiffer measures to contain the spread of the pandemic.
In a statewide broadcast in Makurdi, the state capital, the Governor outlined new measures to include the closure of entry points with effect from Wednesday, April 1.
Reactions have continued to trail the state index case of the dreaded infectious Coronavirus prompting the State Government to tighten its containment strategy.

Besides the blockage of entry points from April 1, Governor Ortom equally imposed a dusk to dawn curfew to restrict movement of any kind at night.
Other measures taken include reduction in the number of persons conveyed in commercial vehicles.
He said “At this critical time in our history, it is certainly better to err on the side of caution rather than be exposed to this growing threat”.
