The newly appointed Acting Service Chiefs of the Nigerian Army, Navy, Air Force and Defence Intelligence Agency have assumed duty.
The chiefs who took over office from their predecessors at separate handover ceremonies including the new Acting Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa made pledges to tackle emerging security threats, and reinvigorate the fight against.
At a colourful handover at the Army Headquarters in Abuja. Lieutenant-General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja after receiving the mantle of leadership, said his administration is committed to moving the service to a higher level.
A similar ceremony held at the Naval headquarters where the new Chief, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla after receiving the insignia of office from his predecessor, pledged allegiance and renewed commitment of the Navy to tackle piracy and other maritime crimes.
At the Air Force headquarters, Air Vice Marshal Hassan Abubakar officially became the 22nd Chief of the Air Staff, after taking over from Air Marshal Oladayo Amao, with a promise to collaborate with other service chiefs, in line with President Tinubu’s mandate for security agency cohesion.
At the Defence Intelligence Agency, Major-General Emmanuel Undiandeye pledged the renewed commitment of the agency to ensure pro-activeness in intelligence, while at Defence Headquarters, General Christopher Musa said the military will ‘run with the ideas of the Commander-in-Chief to make Nigeria more secured.
